Darius D. Whitted, a 19-year-old Navy sailor, tragically lost his life on October 12, 2020, in Portsmouth, Virginia. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Woodland Street in the Cradock area. Whitted, who had been serving in the Navy for nearly two years, was shot during a confrontation involving a group of U.S. Navy sailors.
