In the early hours of a cold Saturday morning in Portsmouth, Virginia, the life of 29-year-old Delvin Antonio Crosby was tragically cut short. On January 19, 2019, police responded to a call for a medical emergency on Turnpike Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Crosby suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. Despite the efforts of the medics who were called to the scene, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Antonio Crosby quickly progressed. Within a couple of days, a suspect was identified by the Portsmouth Police Department. A 20-year-old man from Portsmouth, Aake J. Russan, turned himself in to the authorities in connection with the fatal shooting. Following his surrender to the Major Crimes Unit of the Portsmouth Police Department, Aake J. Russan was formally charged.
