In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Portsmouth, Virginia, the life of 33-year-old Michael Livermon was tragically cut short. On September 29, 2024, officers responded to a call in the 2300 block of Elliott Avenue around 1:35 a.m. where they discovered Livermon suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The shooting that claimed Livermon's life was one of four separate and unrelated shooting incidents that occurred in Portsmouth within a few hours of
each other, creating a night of violence in the city. Two of these shootings, including the one that killed Livermon, were fatal.
As of now, the Portsmouth Police Department's investigation into Michael Livermon's death is ongoing. No information has been publicly released regarding any potential suspects or arrests in connection with his homicide. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward to assist in the investigation.
