On a summer evening in Portsmouth, Virginia, the life of 45-year-old Dominic D. Ricks, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On June 9, 2018, Ricks was discovered deceased at the Relax Inn, located at 1031 London Boulevard. The cause of his death was determined to be a fatal gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of his death, his father mentioned that his son had been residing at the motel while endeavoring to improve his circumstances.
