On a Wednesday evening in Portsmouth, Virginia, tragedy struck in the 2100 block of Elm Avenue. On June 18, 2025, shortly after 5:15 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the neighborhood's calm. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of them, a 39-year-old man named Omar Tyron Evans, was pronounced dead at the scene.
