Dion Lofton Jr., a one-year-old from Portsmouth, Virginia, tragically lost his life on June 27, 2015. The incident occurred on Maple Avenue in the Prentis Park area, where emergency workers found Dion with a gunshot wound to his right cheek, which had an exit wound at the back of his head. A 25-year-old woman, a friend of Dion's parents, was also injured in the shooting, sustaining a gunshot wound to her lower back.
