Jamal Spratley, a 29-year-old resident of Portsmouth, Virginia, tragically lost his life in the early hours of June 6, 2015. The incident occurred on Chicago Avenue, where police responded to a 911 call for medical assistance around 3 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found Spratley suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Despite the efforts of medics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
