In the autumn of 2017, the city of Portsmouth, Virginia, was once again confronted with the specter of gun violence as it claimed the life of another young man. Cori Terry, a 25-year-old male, was fatally shot on a Saturday night in November. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue, where a bullet struck his abdomen. Rushed to a nearby hospital, he ultimately succumbed to the grievous wound.
