On the night of July 6, 2022, Robert D. Parker, a 29-year-old resident of Portsmouth, Virginia, was tragically killed in a double shooting incident. The Portsmouth Police Department received a 911 call around 11:40 p.m. reporting a shooting in the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Parker with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Despite the efforts of medical crews, Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.
