In the early evening of a Tuesday in Norfolk, Virginia, a burst of violence shattered the autumn calm. On October 26, 2021, just before 7:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a gunshot victim on Granby Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The man, identified as 48-year-old Abdul Shaahid Azauin Muhammhad, a male resident of Norfolk, was rushed to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The incident that claimed Muhammhad's life was part of a triple shooting. Shortly after the initial dispatch, two other men arrived at the same hospital by private vehicle, both suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
