In the summer of 2014, a violent incident cut short the life of Kwasi Sekou Muhammad, a 35-year-old man from Newark, New Jersey. On the night of July 1st, gunshots rang out in the 700 block of Chancellor Avenue in the neighboring town of Irvington. When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered Muhammad had been fatally wounded. He was pronounced dead at approximately 10:46 p.m.
