In the Homewood neighborhood of Pittsburgh, on the evening of March 25, 2021, 30-year-old Michael Lyons was shot and killed. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 7200 block of Frankstown Avenue. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found Lyons, who was pronounced dead. Another male, a juvenile, was also a victim in the shooting and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office confirmed Lyons' identity and that his death was a result of the shooting.
Michael Lyons, known affectionately as 'Mister,' was born on July 6, 1995, in Pittsburgh. He grew up in Homewood and attended the Penn Hills School District. He worked in construction for Gilman Services and had been accepted into the Brick Layer Certification Program at the Trade Institute of Pittsburgh. He was known for his love of music and fashion. He was preceded in death by several family members and left behind his parents, siblings, grandparents, and a host of other relatives and friends. Eight years prior to his death, in 2013, Lyons had been convicted of conspiracy to commit third-degree murder in a separate incident involving a party bus shooting. For this, he was sentenced to 11 ½ to 23 months in jail followed by 10 years of probation.
