On a late Sunday night in Newark, New Jersey, the life of 20-year-old Yasir Manley, a male, was tragically cut short. The incident occurred on August 7, 2022, in the 200 block of Chadwick Avenue. At approximately 11:37 p.m., Newark police officers responded to the scene and found Manley suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the immediate police response, Yasir Manley was pronounced dead at the scene just 20 minutes later, at 11:57 p.m.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, in conjunction with detectives from the Newark Police Department, launched an investigation into the fatal shooting.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, authorities announced that the investigation was active and ongoing. However, no arrests were made in connection with the death of Yasir Manley.
