In the afternoon hours of June 6, 2014, a burst of violence on a Newark street cut short the life of 33-year-old Kareem Jones. The male victim was in the vicinity of the 100 block of Muhammad Ali Avenue when gunfire erupted at approximately 2:40 p.m. Newark police officers, responding to reports of a shooting, discovered Jones at the scene suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
