In the early morning hours of November 8, 2020, tragedy struck in Newark, New Jersey, forever altering the lives of those who knew Shahir Minatee. A Black male, just 17 years old, Minatee became another young life lost to gun violence. The incident unfolded around 4 a.m. on Elizabeth Avenue in the city's South Ward.
