Death by Force

In the early evening of May 5, 2022, Christopher G. Griffin, a 36-year-old male, was fatally shot in Newark, New Jersey. The incident occurred around 6:54 p.m. in the 300 block of Mount Prospect Avenue. When Newark police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Griffin, who was pronounced dead at 7:06 p.m. The investigation into his death was led by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department.
