In the early morning hours of April 20, 2019, the life of 37-year-old Farad Burt, a Black male, was tragically cut short on a street in Newark, New Jersey. Burt was found on Springfield Avenue suffering from gunshot wounds. The incident prompted a swift response from local authorities.
Emergency services transported Burt to University Hospital in Newark, but his injuries proved to be fatal. He was pronounced dead at 3:18 a.m. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, launched an investigation into the fatal shooting.
Despite the ongoing efforts of law enforcement, no arrests have been made
