In the city of Newark, New Jersey, the life of Shannon D. Seawright was cut short on April 13, 2016. Seawright, a 30-year-old Black/African American male, was the victim of a fatal shooting. The circumstances surrounding his death prompted an investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force in conjunction with the Newark Police Department.
