In the early morning hours of August 24, 2020, the life of 14-year-old Skylar Whitney was tragically cut short in Louisville, Kentucky. A Black male, Skylar was in the Shawnee neighborhood when violence erupted. Around 3:30 a.m., Louisville Metro Police responded to a report of a shooting on Cecil Avenue, near Shawnee Park. Upon their arrival, they discovered the young teen suffering from a gunshot wound.
