In the winter of 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the late-night quiet of a residential street in Valley Station, Louisville, leaving two men dead and another wounded. Among the deceased was Carlos Turrelles-Arias, a 27-year-old male who succumbed to gunshot wounds at University Hospital in the early hours of December 14, 2017. The fatal incident unfolded on the evening of December 13 in the 9900 block of Shirewick Way.
