In the autumn of 2021, the life of Dion Larue Ross Sr., a 59-year-old Black man from Louisville, Kentucky, was tragically cut short. On November 16, 2021, Ross was discovered in his car in an alley in the Russell neighborhood, having been fatally shot. The Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the scene and initiated a homicide investigation into his death.
