In the early evening of May 10, 2025, the life of 45-year-old Jovon Prince, a female resident of Montgomery, Alabama, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded around 6:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of Locust Street, where Montgomery Police and fire medics responded to a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Prince suffering from a fatal gunshot wound and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into her death quickly led authorities to a suspect.
The following morning, law enforcement arrested 24-year-old Hanna Bentley in connection with the fatal shooting. While the Montgomery Police Department identified Bentley as a local resident, court records indicated an address for her in Auburn. She was subsequently charged with murder and taken to the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
As the investigation continues, authorities have not released any information regarding a possible motive for the shooting or the nature of the relationship, if any, between Prince and Bentley.
