On a summer afternoon in Kansas City, Kansas, the life of a young Black/African American man was tragically cut short. Wordell Dean III, a 22-year-old male, was found fatally shot on Sunday, July 16, 2017. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Everett Avenue, where police responded to a call just after 3 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Dean on the ground, having sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
