In the early morning hours of November 13, 2022, the life of 38-year-old Hispanic male, Apolonio Enriquez of Kansas City, Missouri, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight, officers with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department responded to a call near the intersection of Kansas Avenue and Berger Avenue. There, they discovered Enriquez inside a vehicle, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and quickly transported
him to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, Enriquez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His death marked the 31st homicide in Kansas City, Kansas, for that year.
The investigation into the fatal shooting began immediately. Detectives learned that the incident occurred outside of Club Nereidas. In the weeks following the shooting, authorities sought help from the public to identify persons of interest in the case. Police released images of these individuals and stated that the suspects might have fled the scene in a black, four-door sedan.
