In the winter of 2020, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in Southeast Washington, D.C., leaving a family grieving and a community searching for answers. On the evening of December 9th, 30-year-old Kelvin Gross was in the 1000 block of 13th Street, Southeast, when shots rang out shortly before 9:30 p.m. The male victim was struck by the gunfire in a double shooting that also wounded another adult male.
