On April 18, 2004, Rodney Atkinson, age 30, was shot and killed at approximately 10:30 PM in the 2000 block of Rosedale Street, NE, Washington, D.C. Responding officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrived on the scene shortly after the incident occurred and discovered Atkinson suffering from gunshot wounds.
