On October 18, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in the Northeast area of Washington, D.C., resulting in the death of 37-year-old Daniel Hansford.

The incident took place on the 700 block of 15th Street, NE, where Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers responded to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a man with gunshot wound injuries, who subsequently succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The victim was identified as Daniel Hansford, born on March 22, 1986.
