On a summer night in Washington, D.C., the sound of gunshots shattered the evening calm in the 300 block of N Street, Northwest. It was Friday, July 26, 2024, at approximately 10:32 p.m., when officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered a man, unconscious and not breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds. This man was later identified as 37-year-old Trent Davis, Sr., a Black male from Northwest, D.C.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Mr. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.
The initial investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch has not yet led to the identification of any suspects, and no arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting.
