In the early morning hours of Sunday, October 23, 2016, a tragic event unfolded in the 1900 block of 19th Place in Southeast Washington, D.C. It was there that 56-year-old Hamza Mccrae was found inside a residence, the victim of fatal gunshot wounds. The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 1:17 a.m. and discovered Mr. Mccrae had been shot at least twice.
