On the evening of April 4, 2019, in Washington, D.C., a burst of gunfire shattered the night, leaving two young men dead. Jobe McDowney, a 23-year-old Black male, was discovered inside the stairwell of a residential building in the 4900 block of Nash Street, Northeast. He, along with 21-year-old Desmond Richardson, had been fatally shot. When emergency services arrived at approximately 8:15 p.m., they found both McDowney and Richardson showing no signs of life.
