In the early hours of a Saturday morning, the sounds of violence shattered the quiet of a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood, leaving a family grieving and a community searching for answers. On October 9, 2021, at approximately 1:12 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of Brentwood Road, Northeast, following a report of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The victim was identified as 36-year-old Robert Dupont, a resident of Severn, Maryland. Emergency medical services were quickly on the scene and transported Dupont to a nearby hospital for treatment.
