On May 31, 2021, 19-year-old Hartford resident Makhi Buckly was fatally shot in the area of 152 Amherst Street. Police responded to reports of gunfire around 3:45 p.m. and found Buckly in a driveway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
