On an evening in early August of 2020, the life of Chan Neil Williams-Bey Sr., a 49-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in Hartford, Connecticut. A lifelong resident of the city, he was fatally shot on August 4, 2020. The incident occurred near the intersection of Norfolk and Kent Streets. Hartford police officers responded to the area after receiving a notification from the city's ShotSpotter system around 9:30 p.m.
