On October 15, 2023, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Greensboro police responded to a report of an aggravated assault in the 3000 block of West Gate City Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered 25-year-old Calysta Scarlet Martin suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was immediately transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries the following day.
