Hasan Readus, a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically shot to death on August 31, 2020, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The incident occurred on the sidewalk in the 3500 block of West Polk Street, within the Homan Square area on the West Side of the city. This fatal shooting added to the alarming number of homicides in Chicago during that period, highlighting the ongoing issue of gun violence in the city.
