Dashawn Townes, age 34, was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting on September 24, 2017, in the Austin neighborhood on Chicago's West Side. The incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. in the 900 block of North Massasoit Avenue. Dashawn was struck in both the neck and chest when someone fired at him from a silver vehicle. He was rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m. that morning.
