Olawale Giwa, a 23-year-old man, was fatally shot on September 9, 2013, in the South Chicago neighborhood of Chicago. The incident occurred at around 9:10 a.m. as Giwa was standing outside in the 8300 block of South Baltimore Avenue. An unidentified assailant approached him and shot him in the head before fleeing the scene in a black vehicle. Giwa was pronounced dead shortly after, with the attack shocking the local community due to its sudden and violent nature.
