On a cold Saturday morning in Portsmouth, Virginia, the life of 23-year-old Tyre-a Irvon Mepherson was tragically cut short. On February 18, 2023, police responded to a call at 7:27 a.m. in the 40 block of Gilmerton Avenue, near Effingham Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered a young man, a resident of nearby Chesapeake, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, Tyre-a Irvon Mepherson succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
