In the early morning hours of March 5, 2023, a violent encounter in the 260 block of Dale Drive in Portsmouth, Virginia, left two men shot. When police arrived around 7:42 a.m., they discovered one man, Carlos Castro-Murillo, already deceased. The other, a 28-year-old Hispanic male named Carlos Cordova, was critically injured and rushed to a local hospital. Despite medical efforts, Cordova succumbed to his injuries the following day.
