In the summer of 2015, the life of 24-year-old Demetrius White was cut short in Portsmouth, Virginia. On the night of August 2nd, White was fatally wounded by gunfire. At the time of his death, he was a young man with his whole life ahead of him. The incident was one of several shootings that occurred in the Hampton Roads area over that weekend, contributing to a spike in violent crime that concerned the local community.
