In the pre-dawn hours of November 23, 2024, violence shattered the quiet of a Portsmouth, Virginia, neighborhood. At approximately 2:25 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 300 block of Hamilton Avenue. Upon their arrival, they discovered 80-year-old George Tetterton Bowen Jr., a male resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, his injuries were fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
