On May 26, 2024, a tragic incident occurred at Nolte Local Park in Silver Spring, Maryland, resulting in the deaths of D'Andre Wint, 20, of Lanham, and Quincy Johnson, 20, of Takoma Park. The shooting was reported at approximately 6:57 p.m., and upon arrival, police found both men suffering from gunshot wounds.
