On June 3, 2023, Jaevon Walton, a 27-year-old African American male from Harvey, Louisiana, was shot and killed in what authorities described as a targeted act of gun violence. The incident took place in the 2100 block of Manhattan Boulevard in Harvey around 4 a.m. Responding deputies found Jaevon Walton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Despite immediate medical response, he succumbed to his injuries.
