Rene O'Quin, a 38-year-old man, was asleep in his bed when a shotgun blast tore through the shared wall of his apartment, striking him in the head. His fiancée made the horrific discovery, finding him in a pool of his own blood, and immediately alerted the authorities.
Initially, the scene inside O'Quin's apartment led investigators to consider the possibility of suicide.
However, a crucial piece of evidence, a hole in the wall near the bed, soon pointed the investigation in a different and far more tragic direction. The fatal shot had not originated from within the room, but from the adjacent apartment, instantly transforming a potential suicide into a homicide investigation.

Sometime during the night, the shotgun accidentally discharged, sending a blast through the wall and tragically ending the life of his sleeping neighbor, Rene O'Quin.
Pierre Camese was subsequently arrested in connection with the death of Rene O'Quin. He faced legal proceedings for his role in the unintentional, yet fatal, shooting.
