In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Louisville, Kentucky, tragedy struck, claiming the life of 23-year-old Da’Vionna Sloane. On March 13, 2024, a devastating act of gun violence cut her journey short, leaving a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Da'Vionna, who was pregnant at the time, was a mother to two children, Dari'Ona and Adrian House.
She was known for her amazing, funny, and outgoing personality.
That night, Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the Park Hill neighborhood. Upon their arrival at the 1700 block of St. Louis Avenue around 11 p.m., they discovered a harrowing scene. Inside a vehicle, Da'Vionna and a 23-year-old man, Louis House, were found suffering from gunshot wounds. The two were rushed to UofL Hospital in a desperate attempt to save their lives. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, both Da'Vionna and Louis succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead.
The news of Da'Vionna's untimely passing sent ripples of grief through her family and community. She was a cherished daughter to Tranise and David L. Sloan, a beloved granddaughter, and a dear sister to her many siblings. Her death left a profound sense of loss for the numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends who were a part of her life.
In the wake of this double homicide, the Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. To date, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the deaths of Da'Vionna Sloane and Louis House.
