On a tragic day in the Newburg neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, Angelica Marie James, a 38-year-old Black / African American mother, lost her life in a violent encounter. On February 27, 2022, she was fatally shot by Christopher Lee Gordon, the father of her two-year-old child. The brutal attack also left her 10-year-old son injured with a gunshot wound to his hand, a survivor of the horrific event that unfolded before him.
