On her 28th birthday, July 9, 2021, Chelsea Lynn Lynch was tragically shot and killed in Louisville, Kentucky. A mother of four, her death marked the 105th homicide in the city for that year. Her children, who were between the ages of 6 and 13 at the time, were left in the care of their fathers.
The shooting occurred in the Portland neighborhood, near the intersection of 21st Street and Cleveland Avenue.
In the days following the incident, law enforcement had not identified any suspects and were asking the public for any information related to the shooting. Chelsea's family, devastated by their loss, pleaded for the person responsible to come forward. Her mother recalled a recent conversation where Chelsea expressed a desire to turn her life around, get off drugs, and go back to school.
Born on July 9, 1993, Chelsea was remembered as a Christian who deeply loved her family, especially her four children. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and skiing. Her family held a visitation and service for her at King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, followed by cremation.
