On July 7, 2025, Sontia R. Simmons, age 26, a woman from Louisville, Kentucky, was found shot to death inside a home on the 3200 block of Kingswood Way in Shively, across from Cane Run Road. Shively police arrived around 1:30 a.m. and discovered two victims—Sontia R. Simmons, age 26, and her friend Amia N. Cox, age 22—both pronounced dead at the scene.
