In a tragic event that unfolded on June 30, 2009, 83-year-old Allie Habich, a Caucasian female, and her 53-year-old daughter, Rita Carrico, were found murdered in Habich's home on National Turnpike in the Fairdale area of Louisville, Kentucky. The scene discovered by Habich’s son, who also lived at the residence, was described by investigators as gruesome and brutal. Both women had been stabbed multiple times.
