On June 30, 2009, 83-year-old Allie Sylvia Habich and her daughter, 53-year-old Rita Carrico, were tragically murdered in their home on National Turnpike in Fairdale, Kentucky. The two women were found stabbed to death in what investigators described as a brutal and disturbing crime scene. Carrico had gone to her mother's home to take her to a doctor’s appointment that morning, but they never made it.
