On a tragic evening in Columbus, Georgia, the life of a promising university student was cut short in a senseless act of violence. Kayla Jenkins, a 23-year-old Black female, was killed on May 19, 2024. A student at Columbus State University, her future was abruptly ended by multiple gunshot wounds. The incident unfolded at the Lowell Apartments located in the 4700 block of Milgen Road.
